The Select years:

In Fall 2008 Thunder 96 finally moved out of the Academy into the Select program of HCSA, as our players had reached the U13 threshold.

The Fall season started with a huge disappointment. As we were ranked  between number 8 and 9 in Georgia during Spring 2008, we had hoped we would be placed with the 11 teams that make up the top division in Select soccer, Classic I. Due to a combination of adverse factors, the team had no control of, they were assigned to Classic II instead . (There are 5 Classic Divisions in Georgia, Classic I has he highest competitive level, Classic V the lowest) 

That outcome was a major setback for our program - we still have to deal with some of the consequences today.
